Welcome to the Shawnee Kennel Club!

We are located in the Winchester Virginia area and have members from many locations in Virginia and West Virginia. Our monthly meetings are open to anyone who might wish to join our club. We are always looking for people who are willing to work toward preserving and promoting purebred dogs.

The club sponsors a variety of events including conformation classes, special seminars, and our yearly show, The Straw Hat Circuit.

New Year Party!!

The Christmas Party has been rescheduled so now it is a New Year's party or 2010 Party. It will be a dinner like the Christmas party that was canceled due to the inclement weather last month. The party will be on Thursday, January 28, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Brad Coffinberger's home in Martinsburg, WV. Please RSVP to either Brad or Sharon by Tuesday, January 26. Each member needs to bring a salad, vegetable dish, or dessert. The club will pay for the meat, drinks, bread, paper products, and eating utensils. There will be a brief board meeting and general membership meeting during the dinner. We're still collecting the dog food for either the shelter in Winchester or the food bank. Please let Brad know what you're bringing so he can coordinate the meal.

Winter Handling Classes

CLASSES WILL START WEDNESDAY JAN 6th FOR 6 WEEKS AT THE UAW HALL WINCHESTER. 7:30 TO 8:30.

COST $25 for non members, $20 for members.

Because of the local outbreak of dog flu, we are recommending that all dogs be vaccinated with the new vaccine. We will also require proof of rabies vaccine for every dog brought to the classes.
